Milestones
Focus on Alberta Industrial Oil & Gas Clients
1979
Electrical Power Supervision System (EPSS) is an Energy Management and Utility Billing Validation application. Clients in the Oil & Gas industry are still using this application today.
1998
Green Report was designed to use the data derived from production reports, natural gas analysis, utility invoices, company records and manufacturer production facilities specifications. The Climate Change monitoring system, developed for Oil & Gas clients, reported on fuel, flared, vented, power generation and fugitive emissions; thus allowing analysis by site, type or facility.
2000
Retail Invoice Settlement System (RISS) was developed for use by Oil & Gas clients of UTILITYnet, on the birth of deregulation in Alberta. The focus of RISS, as a back-office "Self-Retailing" solution, was to help our clients lower their energy costs, improve their competitive position and move away from Investor Owned Utilities as their default retailer. This business service, and supporting systems continues to expand and every year, since the birth of deregulation, we continue to add new clients to our portfolio. If you are looking for ways and means of lowering their cost of electricity, contact us.
Focus on Farming Co-operative Clients
2004
ZYNXX was developed and deployed for use by Alberta's Federation of Rural Electrification Association (AFREA) members as a utility billing and customer care management solution. The system was expanded to include Radio Frequency Meter Data Management services, which in turn has helped lower the cost of metering and increase billing accuracy.
Focus on Residential and Small Business Customers
2009
Electricity Retail Services is a full suite of web-based billing and customer services provided by UTILITYnet. There is an Alberta based and centralized customer care data center, located in Calgary offering Residential and Business consumers of Alberta online access to some of the lowest energy prices in Alberta. Today, there are a number of Energy Marketers in Alberta using the UNET centralized clearing house. A new Energy Marketer is added to the network every 45 to 60 days.
2012
Light Up Alberta was launched as a business application supporting Micro Generators of Solar Energy. The program was temporarily curtailed in 2014 by short-sighted government policy makers, but will being revived in 2016.
2015
Natural Gas Services are now available to all Residential and Business customers located in the ATCO franchised distribution (North & South) zones, who in turn are customers of any of the Energy Marketers operating under the network services provided by UTILITYnet.
2015
Green Alberta Energy was officially launched on November 8th, 2015 at the Pathway 2 Sustainability convention being held at Olds. The opportunity of any consumer in Alberta to participate in greening the grid is now available. We have linked the option of green the grid into the Electricity Retail Services and billing engine originally developed in 2009.
